this man.
i can't even.
his eyes
swallow me whole
and i'm just a beating
heart left unprotected.

i haven't left much unsaid
but i'm just trying to be
clear.
honest.
since i wasn't so honest with myself initially.

i knew him before and
somehow forgot i knew he liked me.
now i still don't trust it.

so with patience
and effort
and as much sincerity as i can
manifest
perhaps we can both learn
to trust
that feeling
since it is not the same as
any before.
